Sex & Single Girls: Straight and Queer Women on Sexuality
Published in Paperback by Seal Press (October, 2000)
Average review score:

A great read!_Sex and Single Girls_ is a must-read, as far as I'm concerned, especially if you're feeling like your sexual proclivities somehow alienate you from the rest of the world. This book ranges all over the sexual spectrum of smart, funny, sexy women. And, despite the title, not all of them are single, so don't let a serious commitment scare you away from giving this book a read! From the joys of being a tease to bondage to polyamory to porn...it's all discussed in here (along with much, much more)! The essays are often humorous, sometimes painfully sad, and, in almost every case, well-written and worth reading. Getting to know the contributors through their essays was one of my finest reading experiences in a long time, and I'd recommend it to anyone.
Sex and Single Girls: Straight and Queer Women on Sexuality"Sex and Single Girls is fresh, bold, revolutionary, and entertaining. Lee Damsky has brought together a diverse group of voices that illustrate just how complex, exciting, and ever-changing women's sexuality can be. It both interrogates and celebrates sexual identity, sexual power, and sexual satisfaction. This book is a must-read for every woman, (and person) who cares about sex--it proves that we have indeed come a long way, baby." --Tristan Taormino, Editor, On Our Backs

The Silicon Valley Edge: A Habitat for Innovation and Entrepreneurship
Published in Paperback by Stanford Univ Pr (T) (November, 2000)
Average review score:

Excellent guidebook to Silicon ValleyThis is an excellent book to describe all thinkable crosssections of Silicon Valley through interviews in the social science methods and through writing by prominent figures in Silicon Valley. The only drawback I found is that the book has too rich contents for a reader to read through casually. I strongly recommend this book to those serious readers who are engaged in Silicon Valley, associated with venture businesses, interested in mechanisms and histories of Silicon Valley, or interested in business models.
The book has a big reference table to illustrate how different Silicon Valley entrepreneurs are from small business owners and traditional entrepreneurs, and describes four distinct types of entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley. The book also enumerates ten reasons why Silicon Valley has been prosperous.
This is really a good book for a reader to learn what Silicon Valley is like.

The Sinusitis Help Book: A Comprehensive Guide to a Common Problem : Questions, Answers, Options
Published in Paperback by John Wiley & Sons (September, 1998)
Average review score:

The Sinusitis Help Book changed and saved my life. For a number of years, I frantically searched for any information I thought I could find on sinuses. I was, unfortunately the kind of patient who had undergone numerous surgeries and evaluations to no avail. I was a more serious case and felt that I would eventually die if help were not found soon. I was racked with fever, pain, and pressure. I had exhausted myself visiting every Ear Nose and Throat doctor within a two hundred mile radius of my home. Despite my insistance that these problems had become serious, most doctors disregarded my problems as being insignificant. The Sinusitis Help Book gave me every piece of important information I needed to validate my condition for myself, and to continue forward in my pursuit of a doctor who would listen. Next this book gave me the proper questions to ask that would eventually save my life. My condition as it turned out was a rather serious infected cyst. Doctor M. Lee Williams answered questions that no doctor had been able to answer. I was amazed at his passion in his feild. Most doctors had given me few answers or options. This man made me realize that there are many, many conditions of the sinuses, many symptoms to suggest this, and many treatment options. I am not embellishing one bit when I say that I would be dead had I not read this book. My condition was crescendoeing just as I was to find the proper questions to ask. Doctor Williams is a genius, noting in his book certain symptoms that most doctors have never heard of. It was a tremendous help to me . I am now nearly well and I have doctor Williams to thank for that. I really believe that every Otolaryngologist in this country who is learning or practicing should consider reading this significant and comprehensive bible of sinusitis. Thanks Doctor Williams for saving my life with this masterpeice of medicine, sincerely, Lana Olivia Gentry, Richmond,Virginia
All I ever wanted to know about sinusitisThe temptation to tell people what's really wrong with them is almost irrisistable once you've read this book. You recognize all the symptoms; are pretty sure you know some of the treatments. Of course, an illness is only fascinating to those who suffer from it, but sinus infections hit so many children that unaffected parents also should be interested.Written specifically for the layman, Dr. Williams reflects the image of a kindly country doctor with sage advice. Don't swim in pools during the winter-- they are fraught with germs. Don't sleep near a drafty door or vent; you will start to cough.Wash your hands, take simple medicines, drinks lots of fluids. Sound familiar? Well, much of it is, but the many situations that lead to infections may be completely new to chronic sufferers. They owe it to themselves and their frequently infected families to learn more about this common, expensive and debilitating condition. The small cost of the book could have a big payback with information that should last a lifetime

Small Business: An Entrepreneur's Plan

Don't start a business without itA step by step process leading you to a fail-safe busines
Outstanding start-your-own business book.In the large world of how-to-do business books, this one stands out. It is logical, uses real-life, fund-limited examples, and provides both a detailed as well as a quick-start guide to beginning your own business.
It is oriented to the small start-up sector, which is always idea rich but fund limited. It includes strategies for breaking through roadblocks, finding financing and partners, and making a clear presentation of your business strategy to outsiders.
Highly recommended.

Smitten: A Long Time Ago...in a Far Away Land...
Published in Paperback by Writers Club Press (April, 2002)
Average review score:

a moving and enticing taleThe story of the young girl who finds and fights for love is classic, but Payton Lee puts a new spin on it by examining issues of physical beauty, juxtaposed with a woman's quest to find her own beauty, within herself, and for herself. The author also has a talent for writing the erotic, and, at it's best, the story is a sensous tale that celebrates the body and the mind. I would recommend this book, especially for people who enjoy exploring more sensual literature.
Such a GREAT RomanceThis book is a fantasy about a girl named Rigan who meets and falls in love with Prince Paul, despite her opinion about herself being plain. He sees her inner beauty and loves her for that.
But a jealous girl gets in the way, causing Rigan some troubles. Buy this book, read it, and enjoy it! If you're into that Cinderella, Beauty & the Beast, Snow White kind of thing, you'll LOVE this book. If not, something's wrong with you.

The Song of Robin Hood
Published in Hardcover by Houghton Mifflin Co (28 August, 2000)
Average review score:

A bull's eye!i can't say this about many books, but this book is like no other. i cannot imagine the many hundreds(?) of hours it must have taken to illustrate this book. many of the illustrations contain a geometric - "spirographic" - element [click on "see larger photo" beneath the picture to get a sample]. what a masterpiece! the subject matter may not appeal to all children, but it is written in rhyme, and reads as beautifully as it is illustrated. sure, it ain't cheap, but it's worth having. the artwork is stunning.
A beautiful version of robin hoodI thought this was one of the best finds! My son does not like to read & he is 8. So I got this book since he loves Robin Hood men in tights & used the music to sing the verses of the Robin Hood tales. He loves it so well, he wants me to just read him the verses! I love all of Virginia Burtons work, but I find this one especially wonderful due to the theme of Robin Hood & the work that went into keeping the translation close to the original bards songs.

Soulful Sex
Published in Hardcover by Fine Communications (May, 1997)
Average review score:

The best book on Loving SexThe best book on sexual lovemaking in a commited intimate love relationship. Easily beats out great books like John Gray's Mars and Venus in the Bedroom, or Charles and Caroline Muir's Tantra: The Art of Concious Loving. Adds a depth of wisdom, spirituality, practicality, and insight into men and women's sexual needs and their loving satisfaction that is missing from other books on sex. Its an easy to read book that has a lot of practical real life examples on how couples can better communicate and act to solve common sexual problems and use sacred sex to build a passionate, intimate, love relationship.
An outstanding book that shows how to have lifelong passion!Soulful Sex is an unusual and heart-opening book. The author is a psychologist and sex therapist who uses stories from her practice to show us how we can become more joyful and passionate about sex. She explains what every man should know if he wants an eager, exciting partner!
